VANO problematiza el caracter fragmentario de la construcción residual, de las viviendas de la toma de terreno / balneario de Puerto Viejo, en el norte de Chile.

VANO trabaja en base a aquellas construcciones en que los materiales intentan un calce que sus formas y tamaños no permiten. Este libro, en base a un trabajo de cortes y extracciónde fragmentos, articula abesturas en descalce, que cruzan su secuencia completa. Intercala páginas de imágen y páginas en blanco, en una combinatoria de lleno y vacío, que deja entrever una suerte de arquitectura abierta, segmentos de otro paisaje, interior y exterior a la vez.

VANO problematizes about the fragmentary character of residual construction, inspired by the location of the images it contains, Puerto Viejo, a seaside land occupation.  The artist works in base on those constructions in which materials try to fit in a difficult way since their shapes, sizes and asymmetry don’t allow any precision.  Thereby through cuts and extractions of fragments this book articulates mismatched openings along its entire sequence.  At the same time it interposes pages with images and pages in blank, combining the full and the empty, allowing a glimpse of a sort of open architecture, segments of another landscape, both interior and exterior.
