THE REVERSE OF LANDSCAPE es una propuesta de apropiación artística del territorio americano. A través imágenes de diferentes espacios, puestas en diálogo en una serie de fotografías químicas y libros fotoquímicos de artista, articula relaciones visuales para proponer una idea de paisaje como un constructo móvil y relacional, irreductible a significado. La exposición experimenta, indica, rodea, observa, explora, infiere, sobre elementos encontrados en un paisaje-experiencia, para construir nuevos imaginarios, cruza de lo social, cultural y visual del territorio, con la luz, la referencia y la materia de la imagen fotográfica, y su desplazamiento al libro de artista.
La producción material de estas obras ha sido realizada en Goma Bicromatada, técnica fotoquímica/pictórica del S.XIX que incorpora pigmentos de color en su solución fotosensible, sistema de producción que permite una manipulación material de la imagen en tono, espesor, densidad y saturación, precisa para una obra en base a la representación fotográfica.
THE REVERESE OF LANDSCAPE pone en diálogo dos series de obras: SILENCE: 50 imágenes fotoquímicas de 25 x 35 cm, y DESERT BOOKS: 5 libros fotoquímicos de artista, de 28 x 32 cm, abiertos. Además, esta contemplado la reproducción del minidocumental biográfico realizado por el colectivo audiovisual chileno “Rectángulo en el Ojo”.
SILENCE /SILENCIO
Se conforma a partir de tomas fotográficas realizadas en diferentes lugares, ciudades y países de América, donde he experimentado un momento de quietud y observación. Detenerse… una fotografía, para después continuar el flujo del habitar o del recorrer: Un objeto sobre la nieve en la Cordillera de los Andes, Perú; una esquina en Nueva York, Estados Unidos; una pequeña casa en Patagonia, Argentina; un estacionamiento en Ciudad de México; un árbol en el Desierto de Atacama, Chile. La serie completa se asocia a un muestrario de hitos insignificantes, desapercibidos. Fotografías de elementos mínimos que guían al ojo por lugares a veces al filo de lo real.

THE REVERSE OF LANDSCAPE is a proposal of artistic appropriation of The Americas territory. Through images of different spaces, put into dialogue in a series of chemical photographs and artist's photochemical books, to articulate visual relations to propose an idea of landscape as a mobile and relational construct, irreducible to meaning. The exhibition experiments, indicates, envelops, observes, explores and infers on elements found in a landscape-experience, to build new imaginaries, a cross between the social, cultural and visual of the territory, with light, reference and material of the image photography and its displacement to the artist's book.
The material production of these works has been made in Gum Bichromate, a photochemical/pictorial technique of the nineteenth century (S.XIX) that incorporates color pigments in their photosensitive solution. A production system that allows material manipulation of the image in tone, thickness, density and saturation, precise for work based on photographic representation.
THE REVERSE OF LANDSCAPE puts into dialogue two series of works: SILENCE: Fifty photochemical images of 25 x 35cm, and DESERT BOOKS: 5 photochemical artist books of 28 x 32cm, opened. In addition, the reproduction of the mini biographical documentary made by the Chilean audiovisual collective "Rectángulo en el Ojo” is contemplated.
SILENCE
It is based on photographs taken in different places, cities and countries of The Americas, where I have experienced a moment of stillness and observation. To pause… a photograph, to then continue the flow of either inhabiting or moving on: An object on top of the snow in the Andes Mountains, Peru; a corner in New York, United States; a small house in Patagonia, Argentina; a parking lot in Mexico City; a tree in the Atacama Desert, Chile. The complete series is connected with insignificant, unnoticed milestones. Photographs of minimal elements that guide the eye through places sometimes found right on the edge of reality.
